Everything tastes a little better with chocolate. Instead of serving up the usual chocolate-covered strawberries this year for Valentine’s Day, try something different.
There are many interesting ideas for foods that could be dipped in milk chocolate. They range from delicious to just downright weird.
Chocolate-Covered Bugles
Milk chocolate-covered Bugles are my favorite budget-friendly idea. This pairs the sweet taste of chocolate with the salty yumminess of Bugles. How could you go wrong?
For this recipe, you can use baking bark which can go a long way depending on how much you apply to each Bugle.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels
This next chocolate-covered snack is super easy to make: chocolate-covered pretzels. You can pick up a bag of pretzel rods from Wal-Mart for under $2.00 a bag. All you need to do is add chocolate and sprinkles and you have an extra special treat for your sweetheart. For more inspirational pictures, visit Joyful Abode.

Nut Covered Chocolate
For you nut lovers out there, this one is sure to please you! Instead of chocolate-covered nuts, how about nut covered chocolate?
My dad used to make this when I was growing up. He could make a huge cookie sheet of chocolate bark that would last our family a couple of days (that is a long time with 6 people who LOVE chocolate).
This is literally a 2 ingredient recipe. All you will need is a bag of trail mix and a bag of chocolate chips. If you really want to splurge, you can buy both white and milk chocolate.

Puppy Chow Snack
Ok, now for the weird…
Well, maybe weirdly named: Puppy Chow. My husband LOVES this party snack. Who would not love the combination of chocolate, peanut butter, Chex cereal, and powdered sugar?

Chocolate-Covered Jalapeños
Ok, here are the weird chocolate-covered foods. Try at your own risk :0
If you are into spicy or hot cuisine, chocolate-covered jalapeños should interest you. **Be sure to wear gloves when removing the seeds.
**Make sure to mix the Crisco with the chocolate. This important step helps the chocolate stay manageable and not harden or clump up while you are trying to prepare it.

Chocolate Covered Potato Chips
For a salty and sweet treat in one, check out chocolate-covered potato chips. **Again, don’t skip the important step of mixing the vegetable shortening with the chocolate. This helps the chocolate stay manageable and not harden or clump up while you are trying to prepare it.

Chocolate Covered Bacon
I can think of two nephews who would greatly appreciate this chocolate-covered indulgence: chocolate-covered bacon. Yes, someone out there thought this was a good idea and it has become quite popular.
