While looking for healthier options for my family, I ran into this great idea: Homemade Lunchables. I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid it was fun to eat crackers, cheese, and lunch meat for a meal. It was something different from a sandwich and I welcomed it!
The difference between the traditional Lunchable and the homemade version is that you can make it healthier for your kids. Why not slip in whole grain crackers and low fat meats and cheeses? You could also throw in a few carrot sticks, red bell pepper slices, and any other vegetables you child loves.
The best part about this idea is that you save money. Lunchables can cost about $2.50 each. That could get expensive if your child eats this 5 days a week.
