Spring is just around the corner and apparently terrariums are the new rage at Pottery Barn. If you visit the store, you will see them everywhere. I made it a DIY project and it was both cheap and easy.
Below is a picture of the model at the store. The tabletop jar terrarium comes in around $119. They are also selling mulch and packages of moss. I believe they were charging $12 a bag for the moss-ouch!
I purchased the terrarium jar at Hobby Lobby. The original price was $49.99. Since glass was half off this week, I was able to snag it for $25.00.
Then, I visited Dollar Tree and picked up a bag of moss, a bag of rocks, and a package of cute butterflies for a dollar each. I spent a total of $3!!!
Finally, I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a bag of Decorative Bark that cost me about $3.
The total for this project came in at around $31 plus tax.
This project is just basically layering the rocks, bark, and moss.
Below is the finished product. I think it looks like an Easter-themed terrarium because of the blue and pink butterflies. I am officially making it my table centerpiece for April.
